I use my first name and middle name. I am a government employee and my department is known to receive threats. We are told to keep our involvement with work out of our public interactions. So I don’t want my legal last name that I use at work to be seen by the public on social media for my safety. I was told to change my name last fall because it wasn’t real. I added an initial and that was accepted. Then I was told again that it wasn’t real and I must change it.
